{"id":96,"date":"2021-06-08T11:07:45","date_gmt":"2021-06-08T15:07:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/business\/?page_id=96"},"modified":"2021-08-30T08:54:45","modified_gmt":"2021-08-30T12:54:45","slug":"withdrawal","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/business\/students\/withdrawal\/","title":{"rendered":"Withdrawal Charges"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Students withdrawing from the college must meet with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/dean-of-students\/\">Dean of Students office<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No reduction or remission of fees is allowed by the College for absence, withdrawal, or dismissal unless an official notice of withdrawal is received by the end of the seventh week of a semester, in which case charges will be prorated, please see chart below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Schedule of Charges for Withdrawal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-stripes\"><table><tbody><tr><th>Week of Semester<\/th><th>Percentage of Semester&#8217;s Charge<\/th><\/tr><tr><td>1st week of a semester<\/td><td>10% of the full semester\u2019s charge<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>2nd week of a semester<\/td><td>20% of the full semester\u2019s charge<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>3rd week of a semester<\/td><td>30% of the full semester\u2019s charge<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>4th week of a semester<\/td><td>40% of the full semester\u2019s charge<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>5th week of a semester<\/td><td>50% of the full semester\u2019s charge<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>6th week of a semester<\/td><td>60% of the full semester\u2019s charge<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>7th week of a semester<\/td><td>80% of the full semester\u2019s charge<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Students receiving financial assistance under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, who withdraw during the first sixty percent of the semester (measured in calendar days); will be subject to a \u201cReturn of Title IV Funds\u201d calculation to determine the portion of their federal student aid that must be returned to the federal&nbsp;government. Students who withdraw after the sixty percent point are considered to have \u201cearned\u201d all of their federal student aid. The College has adopted this same policy with respect to College-funded aid. State aid reductions may also be required in accordance with each state\u2019s regulations. Consequently, no adjustment to a student\u2019s account will be made until all appropriate financial aid reductions are calculated. Please contact the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/aid\/\">Office of Financial Aid<\/a>&nbsp;for additional information about possible loss of aid and for examples of typical calculations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An optional Comprehensive Fee refund insurance plan is available for insuring an 80% refund of fees in the event of a student\u2019s early withdrawal from Wooster because of illness.
