Emergency Book Loans<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This non-interest loan is intended to assist students who are unable to initially pay for their textbooks, preventing them from seeking other financially draining means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Emergency Loans<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This non-interest loan supports students facing emergency situations or needing auxiliary items. It serves as an advance, providing additional time for students to cover costs until the end of the semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Emergency Laptop Loaner Program<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In partnership with Technology Services, this program provides temporary assistance to students experiencing laptop difficulties, ensuring they can continue their academic work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Student Emergency Grants<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Established to assist students with rare, emergent, non-tuition expenses that are critical to their well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Note<\/strong>: These funds are intended to offer temporary relief and are not a substitute for ongoing financial aid. In 2020, six Wooster students and alumni created the Black Student Equity Fund to \u201cstrengthen the support and opportunities available to Black students both inside and outside the classroom.\u201d Since that time, alumni and friends of the College have given to this fund, granting us the ability to call for new applications this spring. Eligible purposes are broad, including and not limited to \u201ctravel and other costs associated with College-sanctioned activities such as experiential learning or off-campus study; travel for emergency personal\/family purposes; assistance with necessities such as books, fees, room and board, and tuition; fees for mental health care or other health-related costs; and any other costs that may be critical for the recipients\u2019 thriving, learning, and well-being.\u201d \n\n
Application is sent out from International Student Services<\/a> twice a year to international students. There are two application cycles and deadlines. \n\n

Any student seeking financial assistance\u00a0in order to\u00a0participate in a College-sponsored Service Trip (such as Alternative Fall or Spring Break\u00a0trips offered\u00a0through Religious & Spiritual Life or the Wooster Volunteer Network), may submit requests to the Chaplain\/Director of RSL<\/a>. Dispersal amounts will be based on need relative to the cost of the trip, and some full scholarships will be available each year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Any student interested in exploring seminary or theological education programs after Wooster (such as\u00a0M.Div, MTS, or M.A. degree programs in Religious Studies, regardless of the student\u2019s religious identity\/tradition) may request financial assistance to subsidize travel, hotel\/lodging, and food costs associated with their visit.\u00a0All visits to seminaries\/theological graduate programs\u00a0must be discussed with the Chaplain\/Director of RSL<\/a>\u00a0prior to scheduling so funds can be distributed accordingly.\u00a0At this time, only visits to institutions within the United States are eligible for funding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Any student interested in organizing opportunities for local service\/outreach\u00a0(such as community engagement projects, food\/clothing drives, etc.) or attending faith-based conferences focused on leadership development may request funding\u00a0from the Chaplain\/Director of RSL. Currently, these funds are\u00a0specific to projects\u00a0and opportunities focused on\u00a0faith\/religion and\u00a0local\u00a0community engagement\u00a0(in\/around Wooster), and any conference\u00a0funding will be granted at the discretion of the Chaplain\/Director of RSL following the parameters of the endowment.\u00a0Please consult with the Chaplain\/Director of RSL<\/a> about eligibility.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\nOffice of Financial Aid<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
