Preparedness is paramount to our daily operations at the College of Wooster. While our college is nestled in a relatively safe area, we cannot control the weather, and crime and other emergencies do occur. Each of us is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment in which to learn, educate, and support our campus community. Thank you for visiting this page and for taking emergency preparedness seriously.
Please review the Emergency Action Plans section for detailed information and appropriate steps to take case of an emergency.

Guidance for Interaction with Law Enforcement Officers
In light of recent media coverage, many of you may have questions about what to do if The College of Wooster is visited by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or another law enforcement agency. This email provides guidance for interacting with law enforcement officials who may visit our campus. Generally, law enforcement agencies such as local police, state troopers, and FBI or ICE agents do not have unrestricted jurisdiction to operate on our campus.
If law enforcement officer(s) come onto The College of Wooster property, students, faculty, and staff should always remain calm and, if approached, ask for proper identification, inquire as to the purpose of the visit, and then contact Angila Tracey, Secretary of the College. 330-263-2360
If a member of law enforcement presents an administrative or judicial warrant, please direct them to
Campus Safety 330-287-3333. Campus Safety routinely assists in coordinating a response to these situations.
Federal and State laws require the College and its employees to respect employee and student privacy. If you are asked
for information on any member of our campus community, please direct the person requesting the information to me.
