{"id":201,"date":"2025-01-23T14:18:08","date_gmt":"2025-01-23T19:18:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/emergency-management\/?page_id=201"},"modified":"2025-01-23T14:18:08","modified_gmt":"2025-01-23T19:18:08","slug":"suspicious-or-unattended-object","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/emergency-management\/suspicious-or-unattended-object\/","title":{"rendered":"Suspicious or Unattended Object"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A\u00a0suspicious item\u00a0is anything (e.g., bag, package, vehicle, etc.) that is reasonably believed to contain explosives, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), or other hazardous material that requires a bomb technician and\/or specialized equipment to further evaluate it.\u00a0Generally speaking, anything that is\u00a0<strong>H<\/strong>idden,\u00a0<strong>O<\/strong>bviously suspicious, and not\u00a0<strong>T<\/strong>ypical (<strong>HOT<\/strong>) should be deemed suspicious.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We recognize that sometimes people will inadvertently leave a bag or box unattended by accident.  However, trust your gut when it tells you that unattended backpack shouldn&#8217;t be there.
