The office is in the Service Center, 580 East Wayne Avenue. Call 330-263-2164 or 330-263-2135.\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">To schedule the use of a college-owned vehicle, contact the Transportation Department. Please give advance notice of at least 5 business days to schedule your vehicle use<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">Vehicle usage is subject to availability. Requests for vehicles without appropriate notice may not be fulfilled.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>II.<\/strong> Reporting an Accident<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:upper-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you are involved in an accident, please do your best to remain calm and ensure the safety of you and your passengers.\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If a college owned vehicle is involved in a collision with another vehicle, object or person or a one-car accident, such as rolling over and going into a ditch, the driver should call 911 for Police and, if there are any suspected injuries to driver or passengers, request emergency medical assistance. All accidents are to be reported to the police immediately (no matter how minor).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contacts:\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If it is between 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. M-F, Transportation Dept. 330-263-2164<br>If after hours or weekends, call Campus Safety at 330-287-3333. Provide the following information:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Driver\u2019s name and the vehicle involved<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: initial\">Location of the accident<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: initial\">Description of any injuries to driver, passenger(s) or occupant(s) of other vehiclesIndicate whether the police and\/or ambulance have been notified<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: initial\">Indicate the medical facility where injured people have been taken<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are involved in a work-related accident or injury which results in one or more of the following: (1) significant work time lost; (2) significant medical emergency treatment; or (3) other equally significant disruption to the College\u2019s operations, drug or alcohol test will be required. Contact the College at the number listed below for details or phone The Center for Occupational Medicine at 330-263-7270 (Leave a message if after hours)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exchange basic information with the driver of each vehicle involved. Only the following information should be provided:\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"color: initial\">Name, address and telephone number of the driver and any passengers<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: initial\">Type of vehicle and license plate number.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: initial\">Insurance company name and policy number.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: initial\">Do not leave the scene of any accident until excused by the proper authorities.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: initial\">Do not make any statement regarding an accident except to the police<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take pictures of each vehicle&#8217;s damages if you are able. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">III. Reporting Vehicle Damage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:upper-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Drivers should report any noticeable non-accident-related damage to the Transportation Department prior to taking the vehicle and when returning. Damage could be door dings, cracked glass, or other noticeable deficiencies in the vehicle.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">IV. Employee Assigned Vehicles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:upper-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All drivers assigned to a college-owned vehicle are to conduct a safety inspection of their vehicle at least once a month. Any deficiencies, problems, unusual noises or changes in ride performance with a vehicle will be reported to the transportation department immediately.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the College of Wooster vehicles to have a long and useful life, they must be maintained regularly. Accordingly, a preventative maintenance program has been established that includes all institution vehicles and equipment.\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"color: initial\">The transportation department will maintain a list of all institution vehicles and a maintenance history. This list will include the date, mileage, and type of service performed.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: initial\">The transportation department will designate which vehicles need service work and coordinate the effort to take the vehicle to the designated service provider.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If a vehicle has operational problems while off campus, the driver will notify the transportation department. If the vehicle cannot be operated safely, the transportation department will arrange the driver\u2019s return to campus<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following guidelines have been established to help us control the operation of our institution\u2019s owned vehicles.
