If a program’s tuition and required fees exceed the SAA, the student is responsible for paying the difference.

Room, board, health insurance, and other required program charges will be billed through The College of Wooster based on the actual costs charged by the study abroad program.

Students should be aware that certain program expenses—such as upgraded housing options, optional excursions, additional course fees, or other personal expenses—may not be covered by the SAA and may be billed either through the student’s Wooster account or directly by the study abroad provider.

Summer Study Abroad

Billing policies for third-party provider summer study abroad programs (non-TREK) differ from semester programs. Students participating in these programs are responsible for all program costs. Many providers offer scholarships and financial assistance, and students are strongly encouraged to apply.

Withdrawal from a Semester Program

Students who need to withdraw from or leave a semester study abroad program should contact the Global Engagement Office immediately.

If a student leaves an approved semester off-campus study program after it has begun, they will not be permitted to return to The College of Wooster for the remainder of the approved study abroad term.

Students who withdraw from their program should be aware that doing so may have significant academic, financial, and administrative consequences.
