The Longbrake Student Wellness Center (LSWC) provides comprehensive health services for College of Wooster students enrolled on a full-time basis. The staff consists of physicians from the Cleveland Clinic Wooster, professional mental health counselors, director of community health promotion, certified athletic trainers, office administrator, and registered nursing staff during the academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located on Wayne Avenue between Gault Manor and Culbertson\/Slater House. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Medical Emergencies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you have an emergency, go to the emergency department at Wooster Community Hospital located at 1761 Beall Avenue in Wooster. Take your insurance card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student Health Insurance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All full-time College of Wooster students must be covered by a health insurance plan in compliance with the Affordable Care Act. One of your requirements for the upcoming 2026-27 Fall semester is to enroll in OR opt-out of The College of Wooster’s Student Health Insurance Plan. Inbound international students are automatically enrolled in the student health insurance plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student health insurance coverage will be through Wellfleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plan Details, 2026-2027<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activate Enrollment:<\/strong> To activate enrollment for The College of Wooster’s Student Health Insurance, sign on to the portal here<\/a> on or before October 2, 2026. Once you are enrolled, you will receive your health insurance ID card to utilize for doctor’s appointments, prescriptions, labs, immunizations, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student Mobile App<\/a><\/strong>: Once enrolled, download the student mobile app enabling you to access plan information, providers, access digital ID cards, resources, and more. Download the Wellfleet Student app available on Apple and Android devices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Policy Period:<\/strong> Coverage begins on July 1, 2026, and will continue through June 30, 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annual Cost:<\/strong> The annual cost for the Optional Student Health Insurance is $1,895.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Billing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students will be billed per semester the premium of the Student Health Insurance Plan unless they submit an online waiver and provide proof of comparable, alternate coverage. The cost for the fall semester is $955 and the cost for the spring semester is $940.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waivers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Required documentation to waive insurance:<\/strong> You must provide proof of other Affordable Care Act-compliant coverage to waive coverage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deadline to waive insurance:<\/strong> Fall deadline: October 2, 2026<\/strong>
If you have other comparable insurance coverage and you do not wish to enroll in the optional health insurance plan offered by the College, you must complete Wellfleet’s online waiver form<\/a> no later than October 2, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to waive insurance:<\/strong> If you are planning to waive this enrollment, you will need to upload your current health insurance card directly to our portal here<\/a>.
Please note your insurance used to waive can be based anywhere in the USA. However, you must have active providers within 50 miles of Wooster, OH for primary care, urgent care, Rx, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Students:<\/strong> Inbound international students are automatically enrolled in the student health insurance plan and are not eligible to waive the plan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
