The College of Wooster \u00a0submitted a mid-cycle accreditation \u201cAssurance Review\u201d to the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) in June 2017.\u00a0 The mid-cycle review is new for the HLC (it has been the practice in other regional accrediting organizations, such as Middle States).\u00a0 The purpose of the review is to give the HLC \u201cassurance\u201d that we continue to meet its criteria for accreditation and to advance us to the next activity in the 10-year cycle, the \u201cquality initiative\u201d project. Unlike the decennial continuing accreditation review (aka \u201cself-study\u201d), the mid-cycle review does not include a site visit by the review team, unless the HLC believes such is warranted, so our interaction with the team is via email and\/or phone during the process.<\/p>\n
