{"id":483,"date":"2025-02-26T10:04:14","date_gmt":"2025-02-26T15:04:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/iss\/?page_id=483"},"modified":"2025-12-09T16:34:04","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T21:34:04","slug":"travel-recommendations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/iss\/travel-recommendations\/","title":{"rendered":"Travel Recommendations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><u>Should you travel outside the U.S.?<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The&nbsp;safest&nbsp;answer is not to&nbsp;travel. &nbsp;<\/strong>We cannot guarantee anything at this&nbsp;time.&nbsp;&nbsp;We encourage you to do your research before making a decision&nbsp;to travel.\u202f\u202f<strong>Please keep in mind that sudden&nbsp;changes are possible.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you decide to travel, do your homework&nbsp;<strong>before you depart<\/strong>.: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gather your <strong>documents (<a href=\"#travelrecs\">see below<\/a>)<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand the process and timeline if you need to <strong>renew your visa<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be aware of <strong>previous travel bans<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Give&nbsp;yourself more&nbsp;time before flights<\/strong> to get through customs and immigration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep <strong>additional&nbsp;copies&nbsp;of your documents<\/strong>&nbsp;on your phone and email\u202fthem to yourself&nbsp;in case they are lost&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Communicate your travel plans <\/strong>to friends and family<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you would like, you can also<strong>\u00a0let ISS know\u00a0your travel plans.\u00a0<\/strong> <strong>Complete <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/GPgm9s1kYx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/s3vJJbKp6r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> form<\/a> with your travel information.  <\/strong>While we will not be actively tracking student departures and arrivals, this will help us determine when students plan to leave and return to campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please reach out with any questions. Then print out the final document.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>I-20<\/strong>&nbsp;Travel signature (on page-2) is valid for one-year (6-months for OPT and STEM).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Passport&nbsp;<\/strong>Your passport must be valid&nbsp;for 6 months into the future from the date you are entering the U.S.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Valid Visa&nbsp;<\/strong>It is only necessary to have a valid visa if you plan to leave the country.&nbsp; Visas can only be renewed while outside the U.S.&nbsp; If your visa is expired, review the process for renewal, and then determine if this is the right time to travel.&nbsp;&nbsp;Visa processing times are unpredictable&nbsp;and may increase under the new administration.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Copy of Transcript<\/strong>&nbsp;(proof of student status)&nbsp;
