{"id":255,"date":"2023-05-05T15:14:31","date_gmt":"2023-05-05T19:14:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/pbk\/?p=255"},"modified":"2023-11-17T14:55:31","modified_gmt":"2023-11-17T19:55:31","slug":"2023-pbk-initiation-planned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/pbk\/2023-pbk-initiation-planned\/","title":{"rendered":"2023 PBK Initiation Ceremony Planned"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Phi Beta Kappa Initiation Ceremony will be held&nbsp;<strong>Saturday, May 13<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;from 9:00-9:30a.m. in Gault Recital Hall, Scheide Music Center.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elected students should have received an email invitation from Kappa of Ohio President Emily Armour. Students must attend the induction ceremony in order to be inducted as members. If students are unable to be present for this year\u2019s induction, they will have the opportunity to participate in any subsequent year during Commencement weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before the Induction Ceremony<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Inductees must register with the national PBK organization and pay a one-time initiation fee to cover national organization registration and local chapter fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day of the Induction Ceremony<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Inductees should arrive to Gault Recital Hall by 8:30a.m. for instructions. Ushers will guide you to your seat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ceremony consists of a brief history of the society and chapter followed by each inductee signing the chapter roll book and receiving a membership certificate. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In keeping with the character of the event, we ask that students dress reasonably formally for the ceremony.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A reception will follow in the Scheide Lobby.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your family is invited to attend the ceremony and reception.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduates should pick up a&nbsp;<strong>Phi&nbsp;Beta&nbsp;Kappa&nbsp;cord<\/strong>&nbsp;from the bookstore register.
