The College of Wooster\u2019s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa in collaboration with the departments of Biology and Earth Sciences hosted Dr. Prosanta Chakrabarty<\/a> as part of the Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholars program which provides PBK campuses with the chance to engage with some of the country\u2019s most distinguished scholars. Dr. Chakrabarty engaged with our campus community in multiple events over a two-day period February 5-6, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Chakrabarty presented a public lecture in Lean Lecture Hall entitled, \u201cWhy Teaching and Understanding Evolution Still Matters.\u201d He also spent time with faculty and students. First, Dr. Chakrabarty presented to the Biology department seminar with students on the topic of Natural History in the 21st<\/sup> Century<\/em>. He also made a class visit to Dr. Lehtinen’s Natural History of Vertebrates<\/em> class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
