Strategic Plan Updates

Angie Tracey shares update from College-Community Collaboration Working group about using innovative AI info

We are thrilled to share an exciting development from Working Group #23 “Enhance

College-Community Collaboration in the Greater Wooster Region” part of our the Framing Our Future strategic plan initiatives. This group has been working closely with Ohio Light Opera staff members and the City of Wooster on an innovative new AI program, Placer AI, to investigate foot traffic patterns on our campus with the end goal of assessing community participation in open college events.

As part of early investigative work, the data has been fascinating, revealing important  trends about how people move through campus and interact with our events. These  insights could have far-reaching applications, from optimizing campus planning to  enhancing event management and improving overall visitor and student experiences.  Though this is still in its initial phase, we are excited about the potential of this program  and perhaps partnership with the city to support our ongoing commitment to making  Wooster an even more dynamic place to live, learn, and grow. We’ll keep you updated as  we explore how this technology could benefit our community in the long term.  A shoutout and a big thank you to the rest of working group #23 for their dedication to  this promising project! Matt Dilyard, Lynn Holleran, Laura Neill, Jill Munro, Mark Gooch, and  a special thank you to Michelle Frazier and our friends at MainStreet Wooster. Way to go, team!
