Framing Our Future Spotlight (February 2026)

As part of the Framing Our Future strategic action plan to Build Our Community for the Future, The Alumni & Family Engagement team has revived the Scholars on the Road program, bringing current and emeriti faculty to regional alumni gatherings across the country.

What makes these programs so special? They offer alumni a meaningful chance to reconnect with beloved faculty and revisit topics they explored during their time at Wooster. For those who never studied with the featured professor, these events highlight one of the hallmarks of a Wooster education: a lifelong commitment to curiosity and learning.

On Feb. 12, alumni, families, and friends enjoyed a lecture in Canton, OH, by Ron Hustwit, emeritus professor of philosophy. The discussion that followed brought together current students and alumni from multiple generations, creating a rich, intergenerational dialogue.

Additional programs this season have included a session in Chicago with Tom Tierney, professor emeritus of sociology and anthropology, and a presentation in Cleveland by John Rudisill. Looking ahead, Denise Bostdorff, professor of Communication Studies, will be featured in Washington, D.C., on March 4.
