{"id":91,"date":"2025-01-30T09:37:32","date_gmt":"2025-01-30T14:37:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/president\/?p=91"},"modified":"2025-06-23T11:52:12","modified_gmt":"2025-06-23T15:52:12","slug":"strategic-plan-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/president\/2025\/01\/30\/strategic-plan-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"Strategic Plan Updates"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Angie Tracey shares an update from the College-Community Collaboration Working group about using innovative AI info<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8cf370e7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p>We are thrilled to share an exciting development from Working Group #23, \u201cEnhance\u00a0College-Community Collaboration in the Greater Wooster Region\u201d, which is part of our <a href=\"https:\/\/wooster.edu\/framing-our-future\/%22%20\/t%20%22_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Framing<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/wooster.edu\/framing-our-future\/%22%20\/t%20%22_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Our Future<\/a> strategic plan initiatives. This group has been working closely with Ohio Light Opera staff members and the City of Wooster on an innovative new AI program, Placer AI,\u00a0to investigate foot traffic patterns on our campus with the end goal of assessing\u00a0community participation in open college events.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of early investigative work, the data has been fascinating, revealing important trends about how people move through campus and interact with our events. These insights could have far-reaching applications, from optimizing campus planning to enhancing event management and improving overall visitor and student experiences.\u00a0 Although this is still in its initial phase, we are excited about the potential of this program and a potential partnership with the city to support our ongoing commitment to making\u00a0 Wooster an even more dynamic place to live, learn, and grow. We\u2019ll keep you updated as we explore how this technology could benefit our community in the long term.\u00a0 A big shout-out and thank you to the rest of the working group #23 for their dedication to this promising project!
