Your Fall housing assignment will be inaccessible during Winter Break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bring everything you will need for Winter Break<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because you will not have access to your Fall housing assignment, make sure you bring:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clothing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chargers and technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bedding<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travel bags<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Important documents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Medication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anything else you will need during the break<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>You do not need to move your furniture or permanently clear your Fall room.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do I need Winter Break Housing?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You need to submit a Winter Break Housing Request if you will be on campus <strong>after the residence halls close on December 11 or before they reopen on January 9.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Students eligible for Winter Break Housing include:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Student-athletes participating in:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Men&#8217;s or Women&#8217;s Basketball<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Men&#8217;s or Women&#8217;s Swimming &amp; Diving<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Men&#8217;s or Women&#8217;s Indoor Track &amp; Field<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wooster Chorus members<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students experiencing travel challenges or special circumstances, including:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Difficult family situations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travel limitations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Long-distance or out-of-state travel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transportation concerns<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Off-campus employment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Independent Study<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students who want to remain on campus to continue working on Independent Study must have <strong>written permission from their adviser or department chair<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students without this written permission will not be approved for Winter Break Housing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I apply?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Complete the Winter Break Housing Request<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The request form will open <strong>November 2, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find it in your <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wooster.erezlife.com\/\">Housing Self-Service (eRezLife)<\/a><\/strong> account under <strong>Forms<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Submit your request by<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Friday, December 4, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Wait for approval<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only students approved for Winter Break Housing will have residence hall access during the break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How much does Winter Break Housing cost?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2026\u201327 Winter Break Housing rate is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>$33 per night<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Charges are based on the number of nights you stay on campus during the billable Winter Break period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Winter housing charges will appear on your <strong>February student account bill<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fee waivers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are required to remain on campus because of a <strong>College-sponsored commitment<\/strong>, you may qualify for a housing fee waiver for the period you are required to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Examples include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Required Wooster Chorus rehearsals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Required athletic practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Required athletic competitions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once your required College-sponsored activity ends, you will be charged for any additional nights you choose to remain on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Other reasons for staying on campus do not qualify for a fee waiver.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What if I have a flight or travel plans?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you need to remain on campus because of weekend travel, you may be able to stay after the residence halls close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>You must still complete the Winter Break Housing Request.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is <strong>no housing charge from December 11\u201313<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>$30\/night charge begins December 14<\/strong> and continues through January 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What should I do before leaving my Fall housing assignment?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before leaving for Winter Break:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Close and lock all windows and doors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unplug electronics, except mini-fridges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take out all trash.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set your thermostat to <strong>65\u00b0F<\/strong>, if applicable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take your belongings and personal items with you that you will need during Winter Break.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take valuables with you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may leave belongings in your Fall housing assignment, but <strong>you will not have access to the building during Winter Break unless you are approved for Winter Break Housing.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When can I return?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residence halls reopen at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2027<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students approved for Winter Break Housing may return earlier if their approved Winter Break Housing arrangements allow it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Will my CoWcard work during Winter Break?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only students who are <strong>approved for Winter Break Housing<\/strong> will have residence hall card access during Winter Break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are not approved, your residence hall access will remain inactive until the halls reopen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can I have guests during Winter Break?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>No.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students may not host overnight guests during any College break period, including Winter Break and Summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens if I violate College policy during Winter Break?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students are still expected to follow all College policies and applicable laws during break periods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are found responsible for violating College policies or the law during a break period, you may be required to leave College housing until the day before classes resume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr
