We have a lot going on with sustainability at The College of Wooster. See below for more details about some of our signature programs and activities. Use the buttons to link to more information.
Reuzzi

Did you know that last year alone, Reuzzi containers helped avoid over 34,000 single-use disposables and saved students more than $2,500? If you love take-out, saving money, or reducing trash, Reuzzi is for you! Get your to-go meal from Lowry in a Reuzzi green container, or save some money (and reduce trash) at one of the cafés when you order your drink in a Reuzzi mug.

ScotShare

ScotShare is our very own electric carshare program available 24/7 for students and employees. Users get access to two all-electric Chevy Bolts at just $9/hour. Follow the link to learn more or to sign up!
Note: Must have a U.S. license and 2 years of driving experience
Dorm Composting

Do you often end up with organic food scraps in your dorm, perhaps after brewing coffee or cooking in the kitchen? Think about composting it in one of the stainless steel compost buckets loaned out by the Sustainability Office! To get your bucket, you’ll need to pass the compost quiz (link below), then email Brian Webb to arrange to pick up your bucket.
Note: A $20 refundable deposit is required (which you’ll get back after returning the bucket at the end of the year).
Clothing Donation Bins

Time to get rid of some clothing? We have clothing donation bins located in the student laundry facilities on campus. The bins are regularly collected by sustainability volunteers and delivered to local charity. Please make sure all donations are clean!
Learning Garden

The learning garden provides a unique opportunity for students to get hands-on involvement with local and sustainable food production. Used by faculty members from several different departments, the garden provides a beautiful and peaceful sanctuary on campus. Learn more at the garden website linked below.
Pollinator Spaces

Students don’t need to leave campus to enjoy the beauty of nature. Pollinator patches can be found all over campus, inviting you to slow down & smell the roses. The Campus Learning Garden contains a wide variety of native plants, including interpretive signage to help boost your plant identification skills. The Luce Pollinator Plot contains a mixture of annual, perennial and native plants, designed with Japanese Zen garden principals in mind. This newly-establish plot features blooms from spring to fall and is a great place to journal, reflect, or just observe. The iconic Oak Grove features more than just oak trees, but did you know oaks (Genus Quercus) are a keystone species and support more biodiversity than any other North American native tree species? Squirrels are just the beginning, as these invaluable members of campus host countless insect, bird, mammal and fungi populations!

Tree Map

Did you know we have more trees than students on campus? And that we have a map showing the location, age, and species of every one of them! Check out the tree map below to learn more.
Electric Vehicle Charging

EV charging on campus is free for everyone!
The College of Wooster has three public electric vehicle charging ports (behind Lowry next to the ScotShare spots and in front of Rubbermaid). We also have 2 EV ports dedicated solely to student charging in the Douglass parking lot. If you’re interested in staying updated on campus EV charging infrastructure, news, and policies, join the Outlook group by following the link below.
