iTunes is a free media player for Windows or Macintosh available for download here.
There are PCs and Macs with iTunes installed in the Instructional Technology lab in Taylor 205 with staff to assist you.
iTunes is one of the most popular media players in use today. It can be used to listen to audio, watch videos or convert digital audio file formats and burn songs to CD. It can also be used to subscribe to and watch podcasts and convert them for play on Video iPods.
iTunes Main Screen
1.To import audio files into iTunes select the files and drag them into the iTunes window or Select “Import” from the File menu and browse to the files.
2.To create a playlist, highlight a group of audio files and select “New Playlist From Selection” or Select “New Playlist” from the file menu to create a new playlist, then drag the audio files to the name of the playlist on the left side of the window.
3.To burn a playable music CD, insert a blank CD and select the playlist you would like to burn to disc. Select the “Burn Disc” button located at the bottom right corner of the window.
4.To convert audio files to MP3, highlight the files you wish to convert and select “Convert Selection to MP3” from the Advanced menu.
5.To change the format audio files are converted to, use the choose “Preferences” from the iTunes menu in the upper left corner of the screen and choose the “Advanced” menu in the Preferences Window. Highlight the “Importing” tab and choose a file format.
