You should avoid deleting (this could break formatting for page numbers and other hidden elements) and instead copy any text you already have and paste it into the template over the existing text using the Keep Text Only paste option. You can see them by changing the view in Word or saving as a PDF and <a href=\"https:\/\/livewooster.sharepoint.com\/:b:\/s\/edtechstaff\/EUERzYwNQTNNuAkaOEEjVHQBOH78_TWFv4-0r4hIqoSNIA?e=6FdEA0\">viewing the PDF<\/a> (see Acrobat View Settings in Figure 1). There should be a blank page after the title page, after the abstract, after the acknowledgments, after the dedication, after the table of contents, after the list of figures, after the list of tables, and after the last page of some chapters. You should see that all new sections start on an odd page. For documents set up for back-to-back printing, this is what we should expect (new sections always start on the right (odd page), page numbers on the outside margin (alternate when viewed on screen), etc). Recommended: <a href=\"https:\/\/support.office.com\/en-us\/article\/wrap-text-around-a-picture-bdbbe1fe-c089-4b5c-b85c-43997da64a12?ui=en-US&amp;rs=en-US&amp;ad=US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">text wrap with Top and Bottom<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/insert-pictures-3c51edf4-22e1-460a-b372-9329a8724344\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Insert and arrange an image<\/a>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Insert <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/support.office.com\/en-us\/article\/insert-a-caption-for-a-picture-bb74994c-7f8b-457c-be85-92233177a356\" target=\"_blank\">captions for images and group each caption<\/a> with its image.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save tables as images and insert them into your IS just as you did an image, except choose Table instead of Figure for the caption label.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For figures and tables that need to be styled according to APA 7 guidelines refer to our <a href=\"https:\/\/livewooster.sharepoint.com\/:v:\/s\/edtechstaff\/EVjhzGWYNGlIrbF4qU1M3dwBA7GLu4sXU-_V6TxTg242mw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">video walkthrough<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Breaks:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/insert-a-page-break-7613ff46-96e5-4e46-9491-40d7d410a043\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">page breaks<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/insert-a-section-break-eef20fd8-e38c-4ba6-a027-e503bdf8375c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">section breaks<\/a>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Insert a page break before a new chapter <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/use-section-breaks-to-change-the-layout-or-formatting-in-one-section-of-your-document-4cdfa638-3ea9-434a-8034-bf1e4274c450\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Section Breaks<\/a>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use Section Break Next Page (at the end of the page before the page where formatting switches) if you need a page break<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use Section Break Continuous&nbsp;(if you already have a page break)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>if you need to change page number placement (center footer vs header outside)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>if you need to change page number style (roman vs arabic)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>if you need to have a different running head for each chapter (for example the chapter title is the running head for each chapter. You will most likely need to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/103481\/how-to-use-multiple-headers-and-footers-in-a-single-document\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unlink the header from the previous section<\/a>) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deleting sections breaks can be difficult. Turn on non-printing characters\/<a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/show-or-hide-tab-marks-in-word-84a53213-5d02-404a-b022-09cae1a3958b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Show formatting marks<\/a>. On Mac, click at the beginning of the section break, hold the shift key, press the right arrow key once, press the delete key.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/video-introduction-to-tables-of-contents-tocs-0af555b1-fa51-4790-be03-53f022cc086a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Table of Contents<\/a>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use insert Table of Contents to insert an automatic table of contents (make sure the options for the TOC are set to display all the heading levels used in the document)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/wordfaqs.ssbarnhill.com\/TOCTips.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TOC Tips and Tricks<\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Table of Figures\/Tables\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Define a Figure caption style and Table caption style to use for captions on Figures and Tables<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/support.office.com\/en-us\/article\/add-format-or-delete-captions-in-word-82fa82a4-f0f3-438f-a422-34bb5cef9c81?ui=en-US&amp;rs=en-US&amp;ad=US\" target=\"_blank\">insert captions on Tables and Figures<\/a> in order to add them to the respective List.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.office.com\/en-us\/article\/Create-a-table-of-figures-c5ea59c5-487c-4fb2-bd48-e34dd57f0ec1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">You can then insert a List of Figures and List of Tables using these styles<\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/insert-a-header-or-footer-b87ee4df-abc1-41f8-995b-b39f6d99c7ed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Header\/Footer<\/a>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the Header\/Footer to insert page numbers&#8230; <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/insert-page-numbers-9f366518-0500-4b45-903d-987d3827c007\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Page numbers<\/a>&nbsp;including roman numerals vs. arabic numbers\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Add different page numbers or number formats to different sections &nbsp;(<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/support.office.com\/en-us\/article\/add-different-page-numbers-or-number-formats-to-different-sections-in-word-2016-for-mac-35e1d683-40e7-4b6a-b0a3-79893d6485de\" target=\"_blank\">Word 2016 for Mac<\/a> or <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/support.office.com\/en-us\/article\/add-different-page-numbers-or-number-formats-to-different-sections-bb4da2bd-1597-4b0c-9e91-620615ed8c05\" target=\"_blank\">Word 2016 for Windows<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are printing double-sided, please <a href=\"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/technology\/knowledge-base\/formatting-a-double-sided-is\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">review our suggestions<\/a>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/support.office.com\/en-us\/article\/set-page-margins-in-word-da21a474-99d8-4e54-b12d-a8a14ea7ce02\" target=\"_blank\">Margins<\/a>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use mirrored to allow different inside vs. outside margins (larger inside margin for double-sided printing and binding) if printing double-sided. Otherwise, set the margins to an inch on all sides or whatever your department guidelines specify.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you need to have a lead-in style header (the header is part of the paragraph) then highlight the words that serve as the header and apply the appropriate header (Header 3 or 4 usually). This will style the entire paragraph.
