Is your home internet slow?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the issue isn’t that everyone in your house is connected at the same time, then it is likely the issue is either with the equipment provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or your service itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Checking your home network<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. <\/a>Make sure your wireless router supports 802.11ac or 802.11n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. To check, google the model of your router and check the specifications<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. <\/a>Make sure you are connecting at 5GHz and not 2.4GHz<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. To check:
    On Windows: click the wireless icon in the lower right corner of the screen, find the network you are connected to, click Properties and check \u201cNetwork Band\u201d
    On a Mac: hold down <Option>, click Wi-Fi, and under Channels look for 5GHz<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. Make sure your router supports 5GHz operation<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Make sure your device supports 5GHz.\u00a0 Any notebook computer issued to you by the College will support 5GHz operation<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
