Users can select from a variety of themes including those intended for websites or blogging. Faculty have the option to create a course site and can add students as users with varying degrees of permissions (editor vs. viewer).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current Voices server is available at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/voices.wooster.edu\">https:\/\/voices.wooster.edu.<\/a> If you used Voices before 2017, please <a href=\"#server\">see below<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"using-wordpress-voices\">Using WordPress Voices<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>For documentation, please visit the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/technology\/knowledge-base\/wordpress-voices\/\">WordPress (Blogs) for Classroom and Personal Use<\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"create-an-account\">Create an account<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>Faculty and students can create an account on&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/voices.wooster.edu\">http:\/\/voices.wooster.edu<\/a>.<br>You can either:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Register<\/strong> (recommended for students) you can choose a username and password that will <strong>not<\/strong> be connected with your Wooster username and password while using your Wooster email address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Just Log In<\/strong> with your Wooster username and password (so that your username and password will always be the same as your Wooster username and password).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"create-a-site\">Create a site<\/h3>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you register, you will have the option to create a site as part of the registration process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you create your account just by logging in with your Wooster username and password, then you will need to use the <strong>My Account<\/strong> menu in the upper right corner to create a site (the Sites menu item and Create a site option).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For documentation, please visit the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/inside.wooster.edu\/technology\/knowledge-base\/wordpress-voices\/\">WordPress (Blogs) for Classroom and Personal Use<\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"server\">Server URL<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The current Voices server is available now at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/voices.wooster.edu\">https:\/\/voices.wooster.edu.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The previous Voices server was setup in the summer of 2009 and over the years had accumulated a number of accounts and sites that were no longer used. Since the WordPress platform did not have a simple way to remove unused accounts or sites in bulk, Ed Tech and Tech Services established a new server in August 2017 and encouraged faculty and students to move sites that they wanted to continue to use to the new server.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is Voices?
