This year&#8217;s art contest theme, <strong>&#8220;Windows to the World&#8221;<\/strong>, invites Wooster students to use their artistic talents to showcase the beauty, complexity, and interconnectedness of different cultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through these artworks, students can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Depict:<\/strong> Scenes from foreign lands, cultural traditions, or historical events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Express:<\/strong> Personal experiences or perspectives on international travel, cultural exchange, or global interconnectedness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Interpret:<\/strong> The concept of cultural diversity and the beauty of different ways of life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Explore:<\/strong> The role of art in fostering understanding and appreciation across cultures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 id=\"eligibility-criteria\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:uppercase\">Eligibility Criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must be a current student at The College of Wooster.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If submitting a hand-drawn work, you must scan the artwork. No in-person submissions accepted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AI art is allowed with submissions, however, we would like there to be some of your own creativity added to the piece.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull has-luminous-vivid-amber-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull has-foreground-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-92da6a4d6e11ded21a31184ba307fe4e is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 id=\"submission-guidelines\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:uppercase\">Submission Guidelines<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Artworks must be in one of the categories listed below and be in one of these formats JPG, PNG, PDF, MOV, or MP4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Drawing, painting (if hand-drawn, need to be scanned)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Poster<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mixed media<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Video\/Animation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The artwork dimension must be legal-size &nbsp;(8.5&#8221; x 14&#8221; or 14&#8221; x 8.5&#8221;) to maintain consistency and aid the exhibition process.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 id=\"submission-instructions\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:uppercase\">Submission Instructions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the link to the <a href=\"https:\/\/livewooster.sharepoint.com\/:f:\/s\/edtechstaff\/En3BxDhkWnBOgdrTm3bAHkcBVk6HQBMfRz-9eZYIlJ8CMw\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/livewooster-my.sharepoint.com\/:f:\/g\/personal\/amaruyama26_wooster_edu\/EtmjTOeBFfBLgtLjl5EEAFwBcXXo5FThkehjE8EULM-j8w?e=01dek3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">submission folder<\/a>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in with your Wooster credentials if requested.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Select files<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Upload<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Close the browser tab.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"judging-criteria\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:uppercase\">Judging Criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The submitted works will be evaluated based on the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Theme Adherence:<\/strong> How well the artwork reflects the theme &#8220;Windows to the World&#8221; and conveys a sense of global interconnectedness or cultural diversity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Artistic Merit:<\/strong> The quality of the artwork, including composition, technique, and use of materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Creativity:<\/strong> The originality and innovative approach taken by the artist.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Impact:<\/strong> The ability of the artwork to evoke emotion, provoke thought, or inspire viewers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Technical Skill:<\/strong> The artist&#8217;s mastery of their chosen medium and their ability to execute their vision effectively.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>All submissions will be exhibited during International Education Week along with a QR code to vote for your favorite submission.
