After 3 years working as an STA, I can feel that I have grown significantly. I got to learn so many new skills I did not expect to before signing up for the job. STA, along with Ed Tech, form a great community, where not only are we colleagues, but we are also great companions, who support me tremendously ever since I joined. One of the moments I am most grateful for the time when I was able to help my peers at the College in their class assignments and Independent Study Thesis. Thanks to my precious time in EdTech, I am adept in many useful creative software applications that will be extremely for my future careers, such as Photoshop, iMovie, and Illustrator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, as an STA, I have opportunities to carry out many of my own creative projects. I have learned so many mesmerizing cool effects in Photoshop and Illustrators. One of the most memorable creative projects I did as an STA is designing posters for our workshop events. I used to struggle with everything, from the tools to templates and colors, but my STA co-workers guided me through everything. Now, looking back to all of my past designs, I feel both proud and nostalgic for my learning process. I am truly thankful for my employers here. They have been so helpful and patient for all of my screw-up times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I personally believe that the opportunities I was given to do projects (like making posters, blogs, podcasts, …) are my favorite part of being a STA. Not only did I pick up new skills, but I also got to practice these new skills in practical situations. Moreover, the sense of achievements when I get to obtain a new skill goal is satisfying and enjoyable. I did a glass-made planet poster (image above) for one of my creative projects as an STA, and I truly have fun with it! Being a member of Educational Technology is no doubt one the best things I did during my 4-year time at Wooster. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
