AMRE Positions
For seven and a half weeks during the summer, AMRE associates work in a small team under an advisor on a consulting project for a corporate or non-profit client. The program also includes professional development opportunities focused on leadership development, resume guidance, reflection and more.
AMRE projects are not finalized until after the application deadline, so it is not possible to list the specific skills or coursework required. However, there are some skills and coursework that can be generally helpful.
For projects with non-profit clients, experience with volunteerism and/or non-profit organizations is desirable (as might be gained through Wooster courses SOCI-10200 Poverty, Welfare, and Advocacy; SOCI-29912 Sociology of the Tax Code; or the Social Entrepreneurship Seminar in the Economics Department).
For technical projects, competitive applicants usually have at least two years of college-level mathematics, computer science, statistical & data science, and/or business economics.
Participants in 2026 will receive compensation of $18.50 per hour.
*College room and board available for purchase.
During the summer of 2026, there are competitive programs of AMRE projects with corporate and non-profit.
