Suggest a College News Story

The director of communications in the Office of Marketing and Communications leads the strategic development of news and editorial content for publication on the College website, print, and other communications channels based on the department’s goals to enhance the College mission, brand, and values. This includes of stories about Independent Study, mentored research, experiential learning, academic innovation, alumni outcomes, as well as student, faculty, and staff achievements related to their work at Wooster. Story recommendations and ideas are very welcome! These often include but are not limited to:

  • New grants received
  • New books or publications
  • Alumni success stories
  • Compelling student I.S. projects
  • Academic innovation

To share ideas for potential inclusion in Wooster publications or channels, please use the following forms to provide the information needed to assess a story idea. Provide as many details as you are able. Note that the more information you provide, the easier it is for us to evaluate and pursue a story opportunity. Coverage of College Events

College news covered by our team also includes signature College events including Convocation and Commencement, and a news article and release at the beginning of each semester for College arts events. For other College events with broad appeal to the community where external coverage is desired, faculty and staff may use the media release templates with the instructions provided found on the Marketing and Communications Resources site. Once you’ve prepared a release with the template, send it to marketing@wooster.edu and CC: cstanowick@wooster.edu.

Media releases or news coverage for fundraisers or events not sponsored by the College, personal or private business promotion, or other items outside of scope at the discretion of marketing and communications leadership cannot be provided.
