Mission Statement

The Department of Campus Safety seeks to promote and preserve the security and safety of the College community. Our philosophy is based on the concept that officers and members of the College community work together in creative ways to help solve problems related to crime and fear of crime. Our goal is to have a positive presence here on campus based on mutual understanding and respect.

Foot patrols inside buildings around campus are opportunities to become closer to our community. Establishing and maintaining a mutual trust within the College community will improve our ability to prevent crime and solve problems. Policy enforcement and intervention activity will be conducted in such a way as to provide a positive learning experience when possible. We will provide an ethical, people-oriented work environment where our members may enjoy their jobs, utilize their talents, respect one another and grow as individuals.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Parking permits for the 2025-26 academic year: The Department of Campus Safety will distribute student parking permits for the upcoming year on August 18, 19, and 20 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM in the Lowry Center, 2nd Floor (Allen Commons).

Students who have already registered are encouraged to pick up their permits during these dates. Doing so ensures you receive your permit right away and provides an opportunity to meet Campus Safety staff and ask any parking-related questions. Please bring your College of Wooster ID.

If you are unable to visit during these dates, permits can also be picked up at the Campus Safety Office (Culbertson/Slater Complex, 602 E. Wayne Avenue) after August 20. A valid College of Wooster ID is required, and permits must be signed for by the student at the time of pickup. Permits will not be released without proper identification.

Permit charges will be billed to your student account and may be paid at the Business Office once they appear (typically after September 1).
