What can we help you with?
Connect a Chromebook to the Campus Network
These steps connect a Chromebook to The College of Wooster wireless network using your Wooster account. This is the recommended network for Chromebooks on campus.
Connect to the Network
- On your Chromebook, open Wi-Fi settings and select the The College of Wooster wireless network.
- Enter the connection settings shown in the table below. Most are correct by default, but confirm each one.
- Click Connect.
Connection Settings
Match these exactly:
| EAP method | PEAP |
| EAP Phase 2 authentication | MSCHAPv2 |
| Server CA certificate | Do not check |
| Identity | Your full College of Wooster email address |
| Password | Your Wooster password |
| Anonymous identity | Your full College of Wooster email address |

Make the Connection Automatic
This enables your Chromebook to reconnect on its own each time you are on campus:
- In the network settings, turn on Prefer this network.
- Turn on Automatically connect to this network.
Verify You Are Connected
You are connected when the Wi-Fi icon shows The College of Wooster network as active and you can open a web page. If a sign-in or password prompt keeps returning, re-check the settings in the table above, especially Identity and Anonymous identity, which both use your full email address.
Troubleshooting
- It will not connect or keeps asking for your password: forget the network and re-enter the settings. In Wi-Fi settings, select The College of Wooster, choose Forget, then start again from the top.
- You recently changed your password: the Chromebook may still be trying the old one. Forget the network and reconnect with your new password.
- The Server CA certificate option is missing: some older Chromebooks do not show it. If you cannot set it, contact the Help Desk.
- Still stuck: bring your Chromebook to the Help Desk and we will get you connected.
