Migrating Outlook Email History

Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Outlook

Note: This solution will only work for PC computer or laptop users with Outlook installed and logged in on their desktop.

  1. Make sure to have your personal Gmail account credentials or create a new Gmail account.
  2. Open a web browser and navigate to Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Outlook.
  3. Click “Download GWMMO” under “DOWNLOAD .EXE FILE (RECOMMENDED FOR USERS)”.
  4. The software will download to your browser. Double click the file in the top right corner of the browser page.
  5. You may be prompted to give administrative permission for the install to continue.
  6. Once the installation is complete click “Close” in the pop-up window.
  7. Locate the Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Outlook on your computer and open it.
  8. You will be prompted to sign in with your personal or newly created Google account.
  9. The software will launch the Google sign in page in your default browser for you to grant permission for the software to access your account.
  10. On step 1’s prompt, set the dropdown to “Outlook” and click “Migrate all data” and then click “Next”.
  11. On step 2’s prompt, select what data you would like to migrate.
  12. Then click “Migrate”. Migration can take up to a few hours depending on amount of data being transferred. Make sure the Gmail account you are transferring to has enough space.

Other Solution

Forward Important Email Only

Note: You can only forward emails one at a time.

  1. Sign into Outlook Online using your “@wooster.edu” credentials.
  2. Locate an email that you would like to keep and select the message by clicking the item or clicking the checkbox to the left of the subject.
  3. Locate “Forward” in the ribbon along the top of the webpage or from within the preview of the message and click it.
  4. In the new message that loads, input your personal email account in the “To” field.
  5. Update subject (optional).
  6. Input text into the body of the email (optional).
  7. Click “Send”.
