The STEM Success Initiative is an inclusive community of students, staff, and faculty engaged in introductory science and mathematics courses. It was created to promote a diverse and inclusive STEM learning community integrating students, faculty, and staff to support student success. Read more about the STEM Success Initiative.

STEM Zone Spaces

STEM Zone spaces are designated areas where where any student taking introductory STEM courses can visit to work in groups, work independently, and seek support from professors (who hold office hours there) and upper-level students (the STEM Zone Interns).

Hours: Wednesday & Thursday 2-4 PM and Sunday – Thursday 7-9 PM

• The Severance STEM Zone (located in Severance 105) supports students taking introductory biology, chemistry, earth science, environmental studies, or neuroscience.
• The Taylor STEM Zone (located in Taylor 205) supports students taking introductory computer science, data science, economics, mathematics, or physics.

The STEM Success Initiative regularly hosts fun community and career-building events for students.

• STEM 101s – STEM Zone Intern developed and executed events designed to introduce strategies, resources, and opportunities within the STEM field

• Get to Know Me: Conversations with STEM Faculty and Staff – Join fellow STEM students in getting to know a faculty/staff member and their personal and professional journeys in STEM
