Requests for Student Information

The College of Wooster is committed to students’ privacy and complies with the state, national, and international privacy regulations that pertain to our students, in addition to our students’ requests not to release their directory information.  We do not provide student directory information to non-College affiliated organizations, groups, or individuals, except for where we are required by regulation (for example, the Solomon Amendment which requires us, as an institution receiving federal funding, to release certain student directory information to verified military recruiters). “Freedom of Information Act” and public records requests do not apply to the College as a private, not-for-profit educational organization.  If you believe your request is in compliance with our policy, you should submit it to the Registrar’s Office for review.  If necessary, the Registrar will confer with the College’s Chief Information & Planning Officer who is designated as the institution’s Chief Privacy Officer.
