IT Recommendations for International Travel
For anyone planning to travel outside of the U.S., IT would like to recommend and remind travelers of a couple things.
- IT recommends that anyone traveling abroad, add an alternate email address to their list of authentication methods in their College of Wooster account before leaving. This will allow those who will not have active cell phone coverage to keep the ability to reset their College of Wooster password.
- IT would also like to remind anyone traveling internationally, that as long as you have the smart phone with the Microsoft Authenticator App with you it can still be used to verify your account. The Microsoft Authenticator App uses both time-based codes that don’t require cellular coverage or Wi-Fi and push notifications that work with just Wi-Fi.
- For faculty traveling internationally, IT has a small pool of laptops that can be assigned as a travel loaner in the event that the faculty member would rather not take their primary college assigned device abroad.
Remember to check that your authentication methods are set up before leaving campus. For instructions on how to manage your authentication methods, visit this article.
