1. What are Wellness Center hours?  How to connect with Wellness Services?  

Phone 330-263-2319, 570 E. Wayne Avenue (Across from Wagner Hall, adjacent to Campus Safety. 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday, 8am to12N Saturday and Sunday         

Counseling services are available M-F between 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m. If you have counseling needs after hours, call 988. (Suicide Crisis Lifeline will connect you to a licensed counselor) 

2. What if I need services after Wellness is closed and cannot wait until they open the next day? What local area services are available after hours?  

For a medical emergency call 911 or 988 for the Suicide Crisis Lifeline. You can contact Campus Safety at 330-287-3333 for assistance in an emergency. 

Wooster Community Hospital ER is open 24 hrs. Local Urgent Cares in Wooster are open until 7:30pm. 

Telehealth services are available on most insurance plans. Wellfleet student insurance has a 24/7 nurse line (800-634-7629) and Wellfleet student insurance counseling line (888-857-5462). 

3. What time are doctor services available? Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in AM, and Wednesday afternoon.  Tuesday and Friday OB/GYN appointments are available in the afternoon.  

4. Is there a charge for the Wellness Center appointments? 

There is no charge for nurse appointments unless labs or tests are done. 

All lab tests sent out and done at the Wellness Center will be charged to your insurance company on file. Doctor’s appointments are charged to your insurance company, and what is not paid by insurance is billed to your student account. 

5. Is health insurance required at The College of Wooster 

Yes, insurance is required as a College of Wooster student.  You can have private insurance or insurance that is offered by the college.  This should be uploaded into your health portal and updated as it changes. If you go to an appointment, bring your insurance card.  

6. How do I make an appointment with Nurse/Doctor/or/Counselor? Call the Wellness Center at 330-263-2319 or come to the Wellness Center front desk during the hours 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 12n Saturday or Sunday.  

7. How do I make an appointment with a licensed mental health counselor?  

Appointment for Counselor is made by calling (330-263-2319) or emailing lstine@wooster.edu. You will meet for an intake appointment to share about your needs and will be linked to the appropriate resources. Counselors meet with students typically between 9am-5pm, Monday- Fridays. Students receive 6 free counseling sessions to use during the academic year. 

In addition to scheduled appointments, students can access short consultation meetings with counselors during the week at Kauke 022 and Lowry G45 using our Let’s Talk program. You can use Bookings Lets Talk to schedule a meeting. 

8. How do I get a flu shot on campus? Flu shots will be offered at flu clinics at Lowry Center, lower level. Watch for advertisement of times and dates. Flu shots are also available with a nurse or doctor’s appointment at the Wellness Center. Call to schedule an appointment (330-263-2319). 

9. How do I get my medications/prescriptions filled? Schedule an appointment with a doctor at the Wellness Center. New prescriptions are electronically sent to your pharmacy of choice. Drug Mart is within walking distance of campus. Other local pharmacies are on our website.   

10. How do I get STI testing on campus? STI testing can be ordered by our physicians at the Wellness Center. You would need to make a doctor’s appointment by calling 330-263-2319. 

11. Can I get ADHD testing on campus? We do not test for ADHD at the Wellness Center. We can provide a list of options for testing off campus. Once diagnosed with ADHD, you can schedule an appointment at the Wellness Center, and our physicians can refill your medications. 

12. What happens if I get up at night and feel ill? If you cannot wait until Wellness opens in AM, you will need to use local services in the community. Wooster Community Hospital ER is open 24 hrs. Urgent Cares in Wooster are open until 7:30pm. 

13. What happens if I need cold medications, Tylenol, pregnancy test, or first aid products after hours? These are in a self-serve cart at Door A.  

14. Can I come and rest at the Wellness Center overnight? Wellness Center closes at 6pm Monday-Friday, Saturday and Sunday closes at 12N.  Students can come over and rest during our open hours.  

15. What if I am thinking about suicide? After hours call 988 (Suicide Crisis Lifeline) to connect with a licensed crisis counselor. During hours Wellness is open you can call 988 or come over to the Wellness Center. You will be screened by a nurse and if necessary, talk with a counselor.  

16. When Should I go direct to the Emergency Room? If you are experiencing a life-threatening medical condition (difficulty breathing, severe wounds, injury, poisoning) call 911 or go directly to ER. If you have thoughts of Suicide, call 988 (Suicide Crisis Lifeline). 

17. What if I need Plan B? Wellness Center has Plan B (Ella).  The cost is 55 dollars. Local pharmacies also carry plan B. Drug Mart is within walking distance from campus. 

18. What if I experience an assault? After hours call 911 or 988. You can also contact Residence Life or Campus Safety. During Wellness open hours come in to talk with a nurse.  They will care for your medical issues and inform you of your resources and options for care. All Wellness Staff are confidential resources.
