As an institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (HLC), Wooster’s accreditation status is reaffirmed every ten years. Our next reaffirmation visit is scheduled for April 2023 (April 17 & 18 to be exact). In preparation, we have begun a process of self-study which will last through winter 2023.
Our self-study has three objectives: to demonstrate to the HLC that Wooster fulfills the Commission’s “Criteria for Accreditation;” to assess our progress on our strategic plan, Connect, Create, Discover; and to inform our strategic thinking. We will consider every aspect of Wooster, engaging students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, parents, and the broader community in the process.
Guided by a Steering Committee, six working groups are gathering and synthesizing evidence in the quest to demonstrate how Wooster fulfills HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation. The Steering Committee and working group members are:
