Safe Space Training
Safe Space, previously known as Safe Zone, is designed to give individuals the knowledge and tools they need to be a more effective ally. Our Safe Space program teaches the basics about LGBTQ+ identities and culture through definitions, terminology, and an overview of current social and political issues. These trainings are interactive and we provide plenty of time for questions and answers. These 1-hour trainings are for faculty, staff, and students.
You can help create a climate free of transphobia, cissexism, homophobia, heterosexism, misogyny, sexism, and be a part of an affirming and inclusive community. You can also find a list of definitions used in our Safe Space Trainings here.
The Introductory level Safe Space training provides an overview of terminology and concepts regarding gender and attraction.
The 200 level Safe Space trainings explore the concepts around gender and attraction more deeply than can be covered in our introductory training.
