What can we help you with?
Printing as a Student
This will cover everything you need to print on campus: how it works, where the printers are, how your allocation works, and how to set up your device. Set up your device once, then printing works the same way all year.
How Printing Works Here
Campus printers are multifunction devices, or MFDs, that print, copy, and scan. Your job does not print when you send it. It waits until you walk to a printer and release it.
- Send your job from your device to Student-BW-FindMe or Student-Color-FindMe.
- Go to any of the printer locations listed below.
- Scan your college ID at the device.
- Choose the account to charge.
- Release your job. It prints.
Your two queue choices:
- Student-BW-FindMe prints everything in greyscale. No color is possible on this queue.
- Student-Color-FindMe allows color and uses page level detection, meaning only the pages that actually contain color are charged at the color rate. A five page document with color on page one is charged for one color page and four black and white pages.
- Jobs are held for 24 hours. After that they are deleted and you will need to send the job again.
- A college ID is required to release a print job or make copies.
Where the Student Printers Are Located
- Andrews Library, in the CoRE
- Timken Science Library
- Lowry Center, in the hallway outside the Alley
Your Printing Allocation
Every student gets a printing allocation each semester, based on class year:
- First-years: $60.00 per semester
- Sophomores: $75.00 per semester
- Juniors: $90.00 per semester
- Seniors: $120.00 per semester
If you use up your allocation, you can add funds at the Financial Services counter at the Wilson Bookstore in Lowry Center.
Set Up Your Device
Find your device below and follow that section. You only need to do this once per device.
Windows
- Connect to The College of Wooster network.
- Go to papercut-2022.wooster.edu:9164/setup, select Download Mobility Print.
- Open the downloaded file. If nothing appears, right click the download link, choose Save as, save the file, then open it. You may need to allow the download.
- Select Yes to allow Mobility Print Printer Setup to run.
- Choose English, then select I accept the agreement.
- Uncheck the first printer in the list. It is selected by default and most students do not have access to it. Installing a printer you cannot access will make the next step fail.
- Check Student-BW-FindMe and Student-Color-FindMe, then select Next.
- Enter your Wooster username and password, then select Next.
- Select Finish.
Mac
AirPrint no longer finds campus printers on a Mac. You need the PaperCut client.
- Go to papercut-2022.wooster.edu/print-deploy/client-setup/macos.html and select Download.
- Select PaperCut Client Download. You may need to allow the download in System Settings, under Privacy & Security.
- Run the installer, selecting Continue through the prompts and Close when it finishes.
- When the PaperCut sign-in window appears, enter your Wooster username and password.
- If no sign-in window appears, select the PaperCut Print Deploy Client in the top menu bar, then View my printers.
- In the left sidebar, select Add printers.
- Select the green Install button beside Student-BW-FindMe and Student-Color-FindMe.
- The printers now appear in System Settings. When you print, choose one of them and enter your Wooster username and password if prompted.
iPhone or iPad
- Connect to The College of Wooster network.
- Go to papercut-2022.wooster.edu:9163/client-setup/known-host/ios.html.
- Download the Mobility Print profile. Select Allow, then Close.
- Open Settings and select Profile Downloaded near the top of the screen.
- Follow the prompts to install the profile.
- To print, open the document, select the share icon, select Print, and choose your queue.
Android
- Connect to The College of Wooster network.
- Go to papercut-2022.wooster.edu:9164/setup and select the Android icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Select Always under Open with Mobility Print.
- Select Install and follow the instructions on screen.
- When printing, choose your queue from the printer list.
Chromebook or Any Other Device
If your device cannot install a print client, use WebPrint from a browser instead.
- Go to papercut-2022.wooster.edu and sign in with your Wooster username and password.
- Select Web Print in the sidebar, then Submit a Job.
- Choose a printer, then select Print Options and Account Selection. Choose an option whose name begins with papercut-2022. Options beginning with mobileprint can cause errors.
- Choose the number of copies and the account to charge, then select Upload Documents.
- Upload your file. Only PDFs and certain image formats are accepted. In Word, use Save As or Export to create a PDF first.
- Select Upload & Complete. Your job is now in the queue and can be released at any campus printer.
Printing for a Campus Job
By default, everything you print is charged to your personal semester allocation. If you are printing for a campus job, choose your department’s account instead of your personal allocation when you release the job at the device. Access to departmental accounts comes from student employment records, so if your department does not appear, contact the Help Desk.
If It Does Not Work
- No printers found, or the printers disappeared: confirm you are connected to The College of Wooster network, remove the campus printers from your printer settings, then run the setup steps for your device again.
- Printing denied: check the paper size. Students cannot print A2, A3, or A4. Set the paper size to Letter and try again.
- Nothing is on the printer when you get there: sign in at papercut-2022.wooster.edu and select Jobs Pending Release to confirm the job arrived.
- Your job vanished: jobs are held for 24 hours and then deleted. Send it again.
- AirPrint shows no printers on your Mac: this is expected. Install the PaperCut client using the Mac steps above.
- Your Mac does not prompt for your username and password: select refresh in the print queue.
- WebPrint gives errors: make sure you selected a printer whose name begins with papercut-2022 rather than mobileprint.
