Gaussian 16 & GaussView 6
Gaussian 16 is the latest version of the Gaussian® series of electronic structure programs, used by chemists, chemical engineers, biochemists, physicists and other scientists worldwide. Starting from the fundamental laws of quantum mechanics, Gaussian 16 predicts the energies, molecular structures, vibrational frequencies and molecular properties of molecules and reactions in a wide variety of chemical environments. Gaussian 16’s models can be applied to both stable species and compounds which are difficult or impossible to observe experimentally (e.g., short-lived intermediates and transition structures).
Gaussian 16 provides the most advanced modeling capabilities available today, and it includes many new features and enhancements which significantly expand the range of problems and systems which can be studied. With Gaussian 16, you can model larger systems and more complex problems than ever before, even on modest computer hardware.

Mathematica (student version)
Mathematica is a computer program used widely in scientific, engineering and mathematical fields. It is mainly known as a computer algebra system, but it has various other features for technical computing. It was originally conceived by Stephen Wolfram and developed by a team of mathematicians and programmers that he assembled and led. It is developed by Wolfram Research of Champaign, Illinois.
Attention graduating seniors!
Many students will graduate and start their careers utilizing the skills they have learned during their time on campus. Since Mathematica is used at Fortune 500 companies and government research labs throughout the world, having access to Mathematica on campus has helped prepare them to take on professional challenges that require these skills.
So they can take Mathematica with them to their first job, Wolfram offers recent graduates the chance to upgrade from Mathematica for Students to the professional version of Mathematica — with one year of Premier Service included — at an 80% discount off of the commercial list price.
Students who are interested can email info@wolfram.com or order by phone at 1-800-WOLFRAM (965-3726).

Student Printing
The College of Wooster contracts with Modern Office Methods, to provide Ricoh multi-function devices that provide both high-speed copying and laser-quality printing at a significantly lower cost per page than laser printers on campus. Copiers and printers are maintained through Technology Services. If you have a problem, contact the helpdesk at x4357 (* 330-287-4357 *) between the hours of 8:30am and 5:30pm when classes are in session, and from 8:30am until 5:00pm when classes are not in session.
A number of devices across campus are available for student printing and copying. Printing and copying is available at Andrews Library (CoRE), Timken Science Library, Lowry Student Center. Students can send documents to any of these public printers from a computer connected to the College of Wooster’s network. The document will not actually print until the student goes to the device location and swipes a college ID to release the print job. Documents will be held in the print queue for 24 hours. A college ID is also required to make copies using these devices.
PaperCut is a network printing system that charges users when printing to a college-owned copier or printer. When printing is done, the PaperCut system debits the user’s COW Card or appropriate budget account for the cost of a print job. Instructions for setting up your devices to use the public printers are here: Printing as a Student
