Credit Approval Process

Department chairs are ultimately responsible for approving how study abroad credit transfers back to The College of Wooster. Students are expected to meet with their academic advisors to go over the schedule of courses they plan to take off-campus before they go, or after they return. Although credit approval can take place after returning from abroad, students are urged to complete this step before they go. Faculty can either pass the course material along to the Department Chair or encourage students to meet the chair themselves. Credit Transfer Forms need to be completed for each course that the student would like to transfer back to fulfill a Wooster academic requirement. The form can be found in GEO or at the Registrar’s Office. (If the student doesn’t need the course to apply in a specific way, then nothing needs to be done by academic departments.)
