Changing a computer password on the Domain

Note: This article concerns faculty whose computers are bound to the domain, meaning their laptop and Wooster password are connected. Students and faculty without issued devices should follow these instructions for changing their Wooster password.

Changing a Mac Password

  1. Connect to Wooster’s network:
  2. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups.
  3. Click Change Password. (If you don’t immediately see a Change Password button, see the MacOS Ventura instructions below)
  4. Enter your current password in the Old Password field.
  5. Enter your new password in the New Password field, then enter it again in the Verify field.
  6. Enter a hint to help you remember the password (Optional).
  7. Click Change Password.

For macOS Ventura

  1. Connect to Wooster’s network:
  2. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Users & Groups in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  3. Click the Info button next to your username on the right.
  4. Click Change Password.
  5. Enter your current password in the Old Password field.
  6. Enter your new password in the New Password field, then enter it again in the Verify field.
  7. Enter a hint to help you remember the password. (Optional)
  8. Click Change Password.

Changing a Windows Password

  1. Connect to Wooster’s network:
  2. Press Control + Alt + Delete at the same time on your keyboard.
  3. Click Change Password
  4. Enter your old password.
  5. Enter and confirm your new password and click next.
  6. Your password is now reset.
