Hiring a Student

The hiring process can only begin once the student has accepted the employment offer, and an application is on file, unless they are a rehire to that position.

Once the student has accepted the employment offer, and an application is on file, the supervisor may submit a Student Employment Action Form (SEAF)

*All first-time hires to the department must attach an accepted offer letter/email to the SEAF

Student Disciplinary Action

To maintain employee compliance with policy regulations and standards of work performance, the College of Wooster follows the concept of Progressive Discipline. Under this concept, penalties increase in severity with each failure to comply with work standards and/or regulations.

Please review Student Disciplinary Action statement in the Student Employment Handbook.

For more information, please review the Student Disciplinary Procedures webpage.

*All disciplinary reprimands must be documented and sent to Human Resources

Termination of Department Position

Do you have a student who will be leaving their position prior to the end date you listed on their original hiring form?

Please complete the Adobe Form to let the office know when their new end date will be. This will ensure that they no longer have access to a time entry beyond their employment period.

If you plan to create a new position, change pay rate, or account numbers, please email Student Employment at studentjobs@wooster.edu or call ext. 2234 with any questions.
