Wooster World Cup 2026

The 4th Annual Wooster World Cup, proudly co-hosted by ISS and ResLife, will take place on April 11 and 12, 2026. This highly anticipated event celebrates diversity, teamwork, and community spirit. The Wooster World Cup brings together individuals from varied backgrounds to share their passion for soccer while fostering inclusivity and camaraderie.

Tournament Structure

Qualifiers Stage: Saturday, April 11th, 2026

  • Location: John P. Papp Stadium
  • Group A: 4pm-6:30pm
  • Group B: 7pm-9:30pm
  • 20 minutes per match

Semi-finals: Sunday, April 12th, 2026

  • Location: John P. Papp Stadium
  • Time: 12pm-2pm
  • 30 minutes per match

Final: Sunday, April 12th, 2026

  • Location: John P. Papp Stadium
  • Time: 7:30pm
  • 40-minute match

General Tournament Rules

  • The tournament is limited to 10 teams.
  • Teams must register with a minimum of 9 members (1 coach and 8 players) and a maximum of 13 (1 coach and 12 players). 
  • Coaches are not permitted to play.
  • Current College of Wooster students, faculty, and staff of any gender or nationality may participate.  Alumni or non-Wooster individuals are not permitted to participate.
  • Each team is limited to a maximum of 2 players from the College of Wooster’s varsity soccer teams (this includes students who are practicing with the College of Wooster team). Rosters will be verified with the soccer coaches. 
  • Teams can represent any country. However, teams are expected to display utmost respect for the country they are representing.
  • Teams must wear the colors or uniform of their chosen country, and each player must display an assigned number on the back of their uniform. Teams are responsible for their own uniforms.
  • All players must adhere to fair play and sportsmanship. Violations such as discrimination, violence, or unsportsmanlike behavior will result in immediate disqualification.
  • All players are required to individually sign a Waiver Form which will be distributed at a later date.
  • A comprehensive Handbook will be linked here in the near future. All players and coaches must review the handbook to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

To Register

  • The registration form must be completed by the Team Captain or Coach.
  • The Coach or Captain must include full names of their players and their jersey numbers in the registration form.
  • Registration will close on March 1 at 11:59 PM or when 10 teams have registered, whichever occurs first.

Important Dates and Deadlines

  • Coaches and Captains Meeting: Monday, March 9 from 5pm-6pm in Lowry 202.
  • Team Rosters: Team rosters must be finalized by 11:59 PM on Friday, April 3rd. No roster changes will be permitted after this time
  • Wooster World Cup Press Conference: Monday, April 6, from 6pm to 7:30pm in Allen Commons.
