CoW Card
The COW card (issued by Campus Access, located in Campus Safety) is an official student ID card and can ONLY be used by the holder. It is not appropriate to loan or borrow a COW card for any reason, as this would be a falsification of identity and a violation of the Code of Social Responsibility.
State of Ohio ID Card
The Ohio State ID card establishes the fact that you live in Ohio. It is considered a valid photo ID so you don’t have to carry your passport everywhere. We recommend obtaining a state ID card at your earliest convenience.
To obtain a state ID card, take the items listed below to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV):
- Valid passport
- US visa
- Print-out of Form I-94
- Form I-20
- Proof of Residence (You can get this from Residence Life. You must specify that you need the letter for a State ID Card.)
- Social Security Card (if you have one, a SSN is not required to apply.)
- For more information on acceptable documents, please visit the BMV website.
Other important information:
- The Wooster BMV is located at: 200 Vanover Street, Suite 3 (You can take the Waygo Fixed Route to Stop #1 and walk from there. It is about a 9-minute walk.)
- Wooster BMV Phone: 330-287-5640
- Hours: Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm; Saturday from 8:00am-12:00pm
- Due to the length of the process, arrive at the BMV office before 4pm during the weekday, and before 11am on Saturday.
- If you have a pending Social Security Number application, you cannot apply for a State ID. Once you receive your Social Security Number, you can apply for a state ID.
- If you have a Social Security Number, IDs are free.
- Social Security Numbers are NOT required for State IDs. Individuals without a Social Security Number have to pay a $5 notarizing fee for a required form.
Information to know before applying for a state ID:
