This year looked a little different for me since I spent the fall semester studying abroad in London. I only worked with the Tech team for one semester, but I’m still proud of what I accomplished.
I have used Adobe Premiere Pro extensively in the past when creating recap videos for school events, behind-the-scenes footage from photoshoots, and marketing content for school projects during my three years as vice president of my high school Media Club. I wanted to refresh my skills and learn its newest features, so I decided to work on a personal vlog to practice. I spent some time relearning the tools and trying out new AI features like Auto-Captioning, which helped speed things up. I also experimented with the Text-Based Editing tool, which let me edit video directly from the transcript, an incredibly efficient way to cut down on unnecessary takes. I explored Auto Tone Mapping for improved color consistency when combining footage from different cameras and used Scene Edit Detection to break down long clips into separate shots automatically. These updates made the editing workflow much smoother and gave me more time to focus on refining the creative aspects of the video. There are a lot more interesting Premiere Pro AI-Powered features to look at and to look forward to in the future. I didn’t finish the video because the semester got really busy, but I made good progress, and it felt great to be editing again.

Even though I didn’t run a workshop this semester, I helped with the STA series of workshops in several ways. I made the Spring 2025 STA workshop calendar and supported several sessions. I gave feedback on posters, helped with setup, and assisted during the workshops. I contributed by practicing my design skills in creating posters.

One project I really enjoyed was designing the graduation posters for our STA seniors. Seeing them displayed on the DMB monitor felt special, and it meant a lot to be part of their send-off.

It’s been a short but meaningful semester, and I’m excited to keep learning and contributing next year.
