We have used Spring Break to perform updates on Inside. The underlying server operating system and the software associated with running WordPress were updated to the latest available released versions. These updates allowed us to update the WordPress software from version 6.6.4 to version 6.9.4 and to update plugins.

There have been many new features added to WordPress in versions 6.7, 6.8, and 6.9. Feel free to explore the links to learn more about these features. Some highlights include:

• New style section
• Editor improvements
• Notes (block level comments in the editor)
• Fit text to container

The next release of WordPress, version 7.0, will introduce track changes and real-time collaborative editing. This release is expected in a month or so.

Other improvements

We also took the opportunity to add and update some locally developed and maintained plugins. First, the A-Z Site Listing page now also includes the editors for the site. Second, we added a local plugin that provides some commonly requested blocks and some block patterns that will make creating complex page and post layouts faster.
