Educational Technology Equipment
iPad Pros
Educational Technology has a limited number of 12.9 inch iPad Pros. Faculty are able to checkout an iPad Pro to experiment with using it for teaching and grading. With multi-touch display, iOS apps and stylus support, it has great potential to impact learning and teaching. iPads can connect to the Epson Brightlinks projectors and make displayed content interactive with inking and touch response on the projections. Users can also project their iPad with an Apple TV through AirPlay to share their screen on a larger scale. The advantage of stylus supports unlocks more iPad features, like inking on PowerPoint slides or handwritten notes. (Please note our loaner iPads are equipped for WiFi only and don’t have 3G access). Faculty are also able to borrow the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard with the iPad Pro.
Apple Pencil
Apple Pencil is the stylus created for iPad Pros and 2018 model iPads. The stylus has pressure sensitivity and angle detection, which replicates the response to a traditional pencil or pen. It lets users ink within many apps that are Apple Pencil enabled and great for note taking, marking up assignments, marking up slides in a course, or for digital drawing. Digitally marking up work allows for easier saving to OneDrive or computer and distributing electronically. This is a green alternative to printing PDFs and other documents for annotating.
