STA Reflection- Taemour

While my time working as an Educational Technology STA was very short, having only started at the end of March, I found it to be an educational and deeply enjoyable experience.

My main goal for working with Ed Tech was to improve the college’s technology website as a user interface designer. While this was a challenging endeavor, I always had the support of my supervisors and coworkers to rely on to help me overcome any challenge. Though progress seemed a bit slow at times, it was always rewarding to see how the website slowly evolved and improved. Having started out green as grass, I now end the semester with great proficiency in using WordPress to create websites.

However, the part I found most enjoyable in working as an STA was at the Digital Media Bar. I was quite comfortable with providing technological assistance to members of the college community due to my time at the Helpdesk. Despite this, there was never a shortage of new skills to learn from my peers as I became more familiar with the different softwares that Ed Tech provides support for. The most notable softwares I learned about were Audacity, iMovie, and Canva.

Though my time was quite short this year, I loved working as an STA, and look forward to returning and learning more in my senior year.
