STA Reflection-Jessica

Hello, my name is Jessica and I’m one of the Student Technology Assistants for Education Technology. As an STA, I assist with digital projects, create posts for Instagram, help with Independent Study formatting, and create blog posts to upload on Technology@Wooster’s website. I have also learned and engaged with emerging technologies such as Canva, Adobe, 3d software, and have created workshops. Some examples of workshops that I have hosted are Canva, HTML /CSS, and Audacity.

Over this past year I have learned more about HTML, CSS, and a bit of JavaScript while working on my portfolio website. My portfolio project was to develop my skills in HTML and CSS and it also helped enhance my skills to host an HTML workshop this Spring semester. The HTML workshop was to help beginners learn the basics of HTML and CSS for their own website.

In addition to the HTML workshop, another workshop I was able to host in the Fall was with Audacity. I am also a part of the social media team and made several Instagram posts about AI art and other interesting technologies.

Another learning experience I was involved in was creating a ChatGPT survey to collect data from the student body about what they knew about ChatGPT, and how they use the software. I was also able to collaborate with co-workers in writing an article about ChatGPT and wrote my own reflection about using ChatGPT for creative writing. I came to the conclusion that ChatGPT is great for writer’s block and to help enhance your story ideas.

If you’re interested in technology, learning software, and creating promotional content you should consider joining our team as an STA.
