Freeman A. Hrabowski is dedicated to educating minorities in the field of science. His science program has become one of the most envied programs in the country. The college’s Meyerhof Scholars program was dedicated to black men. However, It’s prestige has enabled opportunities for applicants of any ethnicity.
He was named Time magazine’s 2012 Top 100 Most Influential People. According to Time, he was chosen for, “turning a humble commuter school into one of the nation’s leading sources of African Americans who get Ph. Ds in science and engineering.”
