It’s been a year since I started working at the tech services team, and the journey has been incredibly enriching. Looking back, it’s amazing to see how much I’ve learned and grown in this role. From the start, I was thrown into tasks like managing the massive inventory of 600 phones, which really sharpened my organizational skills and attention to detail. Troubleshooting tech issues for my peers has not only improved my technical knowledge but has also boosted my confidence in handling unexpected challenges. Whether it was getting deep into printer mechanics or ensuring all our campus tech was operational after a power outage, each task has taught me something valuable about persistence and solution-finding.
Now, as I prepare for an Operations internship this summer, I feel both excited and a bit anxious about applying what I’ve learned in a completely new environment. The internship is a big step towards my career goals, and I’m eager to see how the skills I’ve developed, like meticulous documentation, strategic problem-solving, and hands-on technical work, will carry over. I’m looking forward to new challenges and learning opportunities, hoping to bring the same energy and problem-solving mindset that I’ve cultivated here. It’s a transition, for sure, but I’m ready to see how the foundational skills I’ve honed can impact another organization.
