This workshop will explore the principles of graphic design and employ them in Canva, along with additional design tips from the instructor, Lina Boughton. Students will leave with a better understanding of graphic design and Canva functionalities. A laptop is needed to participate. Setting up a Canva account prior to the workshop and bringing your own personal designs/ideas is encouraged.

2. Explore Graphic Design & Canva
   • The design process in Canva
     • Add your information 
       • Use the Text and Upload tabs to add essential information to your design 
     • Figure out a layout 
       • Use the Design tab to plan out your design with respect to alignment and proximity 
     • Pick a style, add some graphics, and build your design 
       • Use the Design and Elements tab to find colors palettes, font sets, and add graphics 
       • Find great color palettes here! 
     • Add some flash! 
       • Use the layers and text effects features to finish off your design
       • Use the Apps tab to further customize your design!
   • Group example – improving a bad design 
   • Free design worktime with assistance
