Getting Ready for Spring 2021
Educational Technology sent out an email to all Faculty last week about tips for Spring 2021. Here is a recap of some of the tips. Check out the post for more information.
Moodle
- *new for Sp21* Minimize clutter under the left side bar for you and your students by setting a course end date for Fall courses (we recommend NOT setting an end date for Spring courses)
- Organize your Moodle Dashboard *and encourage your students* to easily find Spring courses by favoriting them.
- Review the Ready to Launch Your Course checklist
- View our Moodle Setup Best Practices post to help get you started
- Visit the Moodle Professional Development course as your one-stop shop for Moodle. Enroll into the course by visiting the link.
Teams
- *new* If you schedule meetings to your Team’s channel, add a channel calendar to your Class Teams so everyone can see when channel meetings are scheduled
- Add your Team’s (Group) Stream URL as a website tab in your Team for easy access to recorded meetings from within your Team

Need some tips for using Outlook? Check out Mike Tholfsen’s 20 Tips and Tricks video on Outlook. Please note some of these features are Windows-specific, so Mac users may not have them at this point. Other features are continuing to roll out.
Calendar Events
The download file is an .ics file. Download the file and double-click to add to your calendar. If an email program other than Outlook launches (Mac users, if the file launches the Apple Mail application on your computer), follow these directions to make Outlook the default email application.
